Delicious Low-Calorie Salads You Should Try

The calorie intake of any meal is determined by its ingredients, and salads are not an exception. Salads are not healthy by default, and their components affect the total number of calories consumed. If you are dealing with extra pounds or sticking to a low-calorie diet, here are some salad recipes to consider!

Chicken Goat-Cheese and Berry Salad

This chicken salad can be a healthy lunch or dinner. You start with toasting a tablespoon of pecans for two minutes (use the oven and toast at 400F). Add six ounces of chicken breast to a big bowl along with a mixed cup of sliced strawberries and blueberries, three cups of baby spinach, two sliced purple radishes, and sliced tomato. Sprinkle crumbled goat cheese and pecans on top.

For the dressing, use a blender and combine sliced strawberries, a bit of sugar, Greek yogurt, red wine vinegar, orange zest, and orange juice, and salt.

Salmon Salad with Grape Tomatoes

If you like a salmon salad, here is a unique variation of making it. You need halved grape tomatoes, toasted almond slivers, sliced scallions and avocado, mixed baby greens.

We recommend baking the salmon in the oven after seasoning it to your liking. Cut it into chunks and mix them in a big bowl with the remaining ingredients.

Breakfast Egg and Avocado Salad

Strawberry Pasta Salad

If you are a fan of pasta, make sure to pick a whole-wheat variation for this salad. You also need chopped shallot, mozzarella, strawberries, and chopped mint. Everything starts by following directions to cook pasta and allowing it to cool down.

Combine shallot, mint, and vinegar in a bowl and season with pepper, salt, and oil. Next, combine with pasta and add mozzarella and strawberries.

Rice Salad

Rice is a popular addition to many dishes, especially in Asian cuisine. This salad will require brown rice, celery, carrots, tomatoes, cayenne pepper, lentils, smoked paprika, red onion, and fresh parsley leaves. You can also use salt, pepper, and olive oil for seasoning.

First, use a saucepan to boil water and cook the lentils for 10-15 minutes. Use a large bowl to combine the remaining ingredients. Finally, combine them with lentils and stir vigorously.
